About

My wife and I love to travel. And we are lucky enough to be in a position where we can. We have traveled to so many places that I can’t even remember them all. I started keeping a journal some time ago and always fantasized about writing a blog of our travels. I so regret not starting this blog sooner, but I am certainly happy that I have made it here now!

We currently live in Stockholm, Sweden, but are US citizens. Since we live in Stockholm, we do a lot of local travel in the area. Thus, in the Destinations menu, you will see Stockholm listed at the country level, and expanding into the various day trips within and around Stockholm, so just select the one you are interested in. I will be creating a Stockholm restaurant guide, so be sure to use the follow button below so I can notify you when that gets started.

While we are certainly not rich, we do like to travel comfortably, eat and drink well, and have a great time. So if you are on a budget looking for on-the-cheap, then you won’t get a lot of money saving tips here. We also don’t travel with any children, so I won’t be much help recommending things for kids to do.

I am a travelin’ man, but I’m also a simple man, and as such, I have simple tastes. I don’t like over the top fancy food. So when you see my restaurant reviews, my choice for the entree will not be their most exotic dish. I am a meat and potatoes kind of guy, hold the potatoes…but not so with the drinks. You might think I’m a beer drinker, but I’m not. I really like the wines. Chardonnay, Merlot, French, USA, Italian, I love them all! Not a wine-snob, I think a red or a white wine goes great with potato chips. I also bolt down my share of whiskey, but not so much when we travel.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy your stay here and please come back often as I am always working on the site to make it better and adding content. Feel free to reach out to me with suggestions, comments, or just to say howdy. Just click the “Contact” button at the top of the screen.

If you want to get an email each time I add another adventure or publish a secret travel tip, scroll down to the bottom and register your email with me and hit the “Follow” button. You won’t get flooded with emails, you will only get one when I add a new journal. And I promise I do nothing with your email address except send mail directly from me to you. So sign up now and travel with us!

Any interesting side-note about me is that I have published a fiction novel! It is a story about an IT geek trying to survive in a hostile, foreboding post-nuclear apocalyptic environment. If you would like to check it out, head to Amazon and search for “Primal Citizen” or “J.C. Marx”. Depending on where you live, you might be able to go straight to it by clicking here.

Ah yes, and one other thing. While you’re digging around through the journals, note that I use varying picture sizes throughout. You can click on most of them, even the larger ones, to experience them in their full size glory.
